bobby.....you mention some really WICKED bikes in your post. awesome. some really cool vintage stuff. i mildly disagree, however, when you remark that there were "no sportbikes" back in the 70's. no way dude! sportbikes have been around nearly since the conception of motorcycles; at least they were used in "sport" methods since then. modern motorcycle racing as we know it was born in the late 40's/early 50's post WWII. i would have LOVED to experience some of the bikes from back then. then that one guy....Mr. Honda.....showed up in the late 60's/early 70's and introduced the world to japanese motorcycle technology. it set the motorcycle world on its ear! you seem to have experienced some of those bikes. not to mention....there is a little factory over in the little boot country that has been racing since the 30's! anyway.....the sport and its technology have, inevitably, evolved. brakes, tires, etc. are all better. now we can go around corners dragging hardparts as well as body parts. it's a blast man. and by the way.......i know guys that are your very age that i have to work at to keep up with around the track. age is relative!

just like they teach you in motorcycle safety courses and in the motorcycle license testing......you look through the turn.

no shot to the HPT staff. they run a great trackday. i've been there 4 times. not to disappoint you all....but the picture cd's i have gotten in the past from their trackdays haven't been the greatest. in the past, they never seem to have enough photographers on hand to cover the place and get a good variety of pictures of riders circulating the track. the end result has been few pictures and not the best quality. hopefully they have fixed this. they have some great media/photographer stands set up all over the track.

In the defense of MCRA..... Ron, Don, et al. did attempt to get something going at PPR with Desmo of Indiana. As stated, it did not materialize primarily due to cost; as my understanding goes. I would love to go to Hallet to try a new track and further support MCRA. July happens to fall into a hole in our schedule. However, when forced to look at ALL options: 7 hours to a track with a great layout, good price, but poor surface or <10 hours to somewhere else to try another track with better facilities (Barber, Mid Ohio, Road America, etc.) you have to reconsider. Just like I wouldn't travel the 4 hours to/for Autobahn, I don't know about travelling 7 hours to/for Hallet. I know our group is considering the trip to Hallet to help do our part in supporting the club. However, the jury is still out and we may very well choose another alternative. I am sure there will be a great turn out for Hallet just the same.

right-o. your point is so eloquently and publicly displayed. you are a cut and paste master!

your memory is horrible, dude. wafo is going to PPR for an STT LED date on June 28. no dice on a June 23 date at HPT and i may be mistaken, but i believe the $15 discount only applies if you do the VRS with Super Dave. that's how we got our discount in april last year. when we have done dates at HPT in the past, you don't get any discount strictly though HPT.
