Ducboy 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I was propositioned with doing an even trade my 999 for this 2005 Monster S4R. Beautiful bike, but I'm torn... My original plan was to sell the 999 for a descent down payment on a Lotus and restoring the 916 for the street. I really liked the ergo's of Steph's S4R, but couldn't get over the color. Ducati's MUST BE RED in my opinion to be considered legitimate  I think I would ride more commuting and socializing on the more comfortable bike, but would still be able to carve with the rest. So, what do I do...trade for the S4R, or go with the original plan??? Here's some pics of the bike in question...

Ducboy 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 akra and arrow stickers? that makes it double fast... youve never said what lotus youre considering Torn between the Exige and Esprit S4. Although the "Eagle" 2+2 is due out later this month. That may change things up a bit. Yeah, I'm feelin' ya with the stickers. What's up with the Akra stickers when it's clearly an Arrow exhaust... A hair dryer will do the trick!
Redrider67 73 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 Get the Lotus now...If you wait 6 to 9 months won't get to enjoy the Lotus until next year...
HandleOnTheRight 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 Wow this is a tough one. That SR4 is a wicked machine, especially without all the stickers. My vote is the Lotus/919 combination. Not only will you have a fun and perhaps challenging project in the 919, but driving the Lotus around will give you as much adreneline and as many smiles as the SR4. Once the 919 is ready, you'll be able to blast away on that again. And, like you said, SR4 isn't totally Duca red.
Ducboy 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 You guys are very wise, and share the opinion of my wife and daughter So, I will sell, buy, and resurrect as planned FWIW, I'd take $8500 for the 999. No better deal anywhere on a bike in as good condition. I have more pics to post. Unfortunately, I can't add them to the classified post due to crazy rules :geek: More pics... I agree...with the Bixby part  I figure this is as close to a bike I can get keeping 4 wheels. I'm flying out next Friday and driving her back.
