Makes me curious about what they were doing with their throttle bodies and how that effected performance.

According to the video, they was splitting the throttle bodies. So when they where in a corner and getting on the gas, they was only using two of four TB's. then the other two would open up when they brought the rpm's up coming out of the corner.

Ah, I can't see the video for some reason. I wonder if that's the cure for the hard hit off->on throttle issues I've always had with both of my bikes? I was able to get some of it out via mapping but coming out of bus stop type corner can be scary.

@jjester here is a link to the new rules on running std TB's for 2017 http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2017/Throttle+Body+And+Soul

It's crazy they were only firing on 2 cylinders when they first got on the throttle and seemed to slowly engaged the other 2.

I watched his interview and he had bandages all around his neck. But he said the burns were not too bad and it looks like he rode in Race 2 today.

I think I would have jumped off the bike long before he did!

It was supposedly pretty chilly there, he might have just taken the opportunity to warm himself up a bit before ditching it.

Back to the Ducati BBQ they really need to cut it out, they had the the same thing happen last year at Donington Park with Chaz Davies.

I don't know why the bike bothers. Chaz is perfectly capable of throwing away championships all by himself, thank you very much.

I heard those bikes get hot under the seat but that's a little extreme.

It's a good thing, too. My other red teams aren't doing so hot this year. :(

His left hand nearly went into the front wheel. He got really lucky.

Sykes looks like he caught on fire just for a second there. I'm glad he is relatively okay, that looks like it could have been much worse.
