Photobucket - 3rd party hosting

Recommended Posts

You may have noticed that if you use Photobucket as a place to host your images and you used the links they provided you in the past... that they would now like to have you $399.00 per year to do that.

So when you see an image that talks about 3rd party hosting here on the site... that's an image that is hosted on photobucket and they will no longer allow it to be viewed from a 3rd party host such as stlar...

I have years of stuff stored in there... I'll try and get some of it out and some I'll just have to let go...

I downloaded all my photobucket albums. Was thinking about closing my account but then I decided to just leave it there for now in case they reconsider. :)

Do you guys have any suggestions for an alternative site that will continue to let us share links for photos?  I have to clean out mine too, no way I am paying $399 a year for any hosting site.

I just put this image on imgur - I still have to figure out their album structures...etc but seems like a good alternative.

I did use Vimeo awhile back, then they made some changes, haven't been there for awhile.

LOL, there are so many damn popups on the site now I could not see the download option at first.  But I went to my desktop which has a bigger screen than my laptop and now I see the download option.

I have a paid account with them I need to check them out. I pay 80 a year because I was planning on uploading a lot of videos and they allow you, since you pay, to use what ever tunage on the videos.

I have a free account, with limited usability. Might upgrade if that's the best deal out there.

That is what I am thinking can not find anything relevant to pictures. I do pay 80 a year to upload up to 5gb a week. I have uploaded maybe 1gb in 2 years lol

For those of you that use the Facebooks I made a photo album for image hosting and set the visibility to "Me Only". That seems to be working so far.
