Kawasaki Z900RS - Vintage done right?

Recommended Posts

Now that we've seen the "Cafe" version, what do you think?

Not quite a Z1R replica, or a ELR replica, ironically, a Wes Cooley replica?

I like it, bottom line, it is awesome.

And then, the original "new Z1" replica - hopefully coming to us sooner rather than later -

I think Kawasaki has a hit on it's hands - Based on the Z900, which I've ridden and found to be a total blast to ride - will this resurrect "vintage" and/or "retro" sales more than the offerings from Honda and Yamaha?

Anyone else like the old school look?

Or not?

Spoke to a fellow who rode the Z900RS last week in California. Everything he said was excellent. The US will only have one version, two colors and it will be in limited quantities.

Unofficially, of course, until December 1st, when the formal introduction is made in New York -

Ah, "New York Steak", I remember now why......

How you liking that so far? My dad might want a small size (physically small) bike that will make it on the highway. The new rebel 300 caught his eye but I like those Yamahas a lot

I gota be honest and say i like a bike that is more bad ass then i am. That way i can at least get what bad ass i have in my system out. My OLD BMW hit 140 today (thats 14. 0 mph in a 25) 🤔so even a car worth (well less i bet then any of your primary drivers )can work for me - im happy for anyone who's toys work for them / since he with the most toys wins and we get to decide what a toy is to us.

When I think of 'cafe', I don't think of that shape. I think of the Triumph Thruxton as a closer vision of a true cafe racer.

Kawi website now says $11,000.

Wish it was a couple thou less than that but it does look like you get alot of bike for what it is made to be.

Our local dealer is considering a private unveiling and assembly of the 1st Z900RS they receive.

If so, I'll be there!
