Cool. I will go ahead and get tickets for Michele and I. They don't charge the CC until they meet the threshold of 49 tickets anyway.

So if you want you can do the same.

Nice. I decided a long time ago that mountain biking isn't for me after going with a friend to a trail where I walked more than I biked.

I mountain bike as well as road, mountain biking is a lot tougher for sure, but a lot more fun :)

the element of wrapping the bike around a tree is always there

The other thing that happened on that ride is the pedal left a nice cut into my shin and when we got back my friend said: "Cool dude, you drew blood!"

In my mind I was thinking "F this... it's not a sport"

Since then I've used that bike on Lake Shore in Chicago and Katy Trail. I wouldn't mind some mild stuff but the whole jumping logs and crap, no thanks.

I am with you on the jumping, nice trails with some hills and turns is fine with me.

I ride with the special shoes that clip into the pedals. My buddy likes flats. Whenever I ride his bike I end up with bloody shins. NOT cool!

I clip in on the road but flats offroad  figure its the same as a dirt bike when cornering , foot down .

I always lose my pedals on a drop or jump. I can keep my back foot on but I lose my forward foot. This causes the pedals to spin backwards and smack my shin when I land. I'm sure it's a technique issue, but I'm not really willing to work through it.

I would love to ride a mountain bike again as long as it's all down hill.

They make electric mountain bikes. They also make hunting versions of them with racks to haul your meat out. I think that would be handy on public land hunts.

I’ve seen a couple ebikes on the trails. It seems like cheating but I get pretty jealous on those long climbs.

Sometimes it gets down to the wire. Spread the word if you know others that would be interested.
