Tony TNT 4 Report post Posted December 31, 2022 Hello everyone, I am a rider that is still heavy in the beginning stages. I have a 2022 Honda CBR500R ABS, and I definitely make it look like the starter bike it is because I am tall on it. I've only been riding for a month, but have been around riders and a "backpack" for years before finally getting my own bike. I live in the Saint Louis area pretty close to the airport, so the posts I have seen for group rides have seemed pretty far away. I hope to pace ride with you all in the summer time or sooner!

Speed 3,355 Report post Posted December 31, 2022 Hello Tony. Welcome to the forum. Most of the ride posts that are local start a little further because that is where the good roads are. Curvy, less traffic...etc. Our rides range from 100-300+ miles a day depending on time and where we want to go. This weather is not conducive to riding at least for old guys like me but @NoGas commutes in this stuff - braver than I am :)

NoGas 132 Report post Posted December 31, 2022 Good choice on the bike! I love Honda. Have you ridden other bikes?

When I started riding, I had so many basic questions, how and when to lube the chain, where to learn more on how to ride and so on.
nihil 25 Report post Posted January 1 Willkommen. Never feel bad about the size of your bike. You learn so much more and generally have more fun on smaller bikes than you do larger/faster ones. I too am fairly tall, and prior to picking up the T7 my daily was a TW200. Still love that little thing and it's just one in a long list of mostly faster/bigger/prettier bikes I've owned over the past few decades.
